Robin thinking about his move to the Red Rose county!

We are delighted to welcome our new Vicar and family - Robin Writes -

Hello from Robin and Elizabeth -  We are really excited about being with you all in a few weeks as I become your new Vicar.  I am from Wellington in Somerset and Elizabeth is Scottish, from East Lothian.  Following school I served in the Royal Navy as an engineer officer and met Elizabeth who was serving in the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps as a midwife.  We married in 1991 just before I started ordination training at Westcott House in Cambridge.  I was then ordained in Wells Cathedral and served a first curacy near Minehead.  This was followed by a second curacy in Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire, before we moved north to Kildwick, near Skipton in North Yorkshire where I have been Vicar since 2001.  We are now looking forward to crossing the border to Lancashire to join you.  We have 3 adult children; Matthew who works for Lloyds Banking Group in Halifax, James who works for The Coal Authority in Mansfield, and Paul who is at Exeter University reading English.  We offer our prayers for all of you across the Benefice as we prepare for our journey together; we ask for your prayers for us as we come to leave the people of Kildwick.  Peace and blessings for Easter to you.
