In church on Tuesday mornings between 9am and 11am. An opportunity to enjoy a cuppa, a teacake or similar, and a good chat.
A simple lunch served in church after the Thursday 11am Eucharist. Everyone is welcome.
We meet, from 7.00 pm on the first Monday of the month, for a pint or two at the George Washington Public House. Any men are welcome to imbibe in good ale, sandwiches and excellent company.
Crafty ladies meet at the vicarage to enjoy friendship and fellowship and to make crafts to sell for church funds. Many ideas are shared as we learn from one another and enjoy good company. Meetings are usually on the 1st Thursday of the month.
We have a good team of Altar Servers of all ages who assist during services, helping us to maintain a high standard of liturgy at St Oswald's. Many of our servers are senior school age, and this activity helps to keep our young people together.
We have an annual quiet day, usually at the Monastery of Our Lady of Hyning, and have enjoyed a variety of leaders over the years. A number of our people have made pilgrimage together to Assisi, Northumria, Lindisfarne, Wallsingham and the Holy Land. There is usually a pilgramage planned to look forward to.
We have groups that meet throughout the benefice usulally on a monthly basis.
We have a group of talented people who arrange flowers in church both Sunday by Sunday and for special occasions such as weddings.
